Business Regulations and Licensing (Rental Units) Amendment Bylaw No. 8525, 2025
Notice is hereby given pursuant to section 59 (2) of the Community Charter, Business Regulations and Licensing (Rental Units) Amendment Bylaw No. 8525, 2025 will be presented to New Westminster City Council for adoption on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber at New Westminster City Hall, 511 Royal Avenue, New Westminster, BC. Per the Public Health Bylaws Regulation of the Community Charter, Bylaw No. 8525 has been deposited with the Minister of Health and the City has consulted with the Board of Directors of the Fraser Health Authority which has no objections to Bylaw No. 8525.

Anyone who considers themselves affected by the proposed bylaw is provided an opportunity to make representations to Council in the following ways:

The Lower Mainland Purpose Society has applied for a Temporary Use Permit for the Health Contact Centre at 40 Begbie Street. The Centre provides a number of integrated health services for the Fraser Health Authority, including witnessed consumption, drug checking, harm reductions supplies and regular drug sweeps of the community, including sharps recovery.
Temporary Use Permit (TUP00038) will be considered for issuance on June 23, 2025. Submit written comments by June 23, 2025 in the following ways:

Written submissions by email, post or dropping off at the mailbox on the north side of City Hall are welcome and encouraged.
Written comments delivered by 5 pm, three business days before the Public Hearing will be included in the agenda package. Later comments received until the close of the hearing will be distributed on table at the meeting. All comments are published.
